Iridescence (Party Version)
Submitted by Seven on Mon, 2007-08-20 18:24. | public release | Demos
This is the party version of Iridescence, our second demo. It placed 3th in the democompo at Buenzli 16, and also won the first jury prize. It's made mostly from 3D flame fractals. You need OpenGL 1.5 to watch this (for point sprites and vertex buffer objects).

Don't Fear the Reaper
Submitted by psitron on Mon, 2007-05-07 15:00. | public release | Music
It has been a year and a half in the making, this is my first song employing full vocals. That is partly why the song took so long; I had to wait until I had a good enough mic to record with. Honestly, though, I think it was worth the wait. Others have done electronically themed versions of this song, but I tried not to allow them to influence my version. I tried to take the elements I really liked from the original and turn them into my own personal taste.
Really, the meat and potatoes of the song had been finished for a while. I spent much of the other time trying to add detail to it and getting the mix right, as well as playing with the vocals. Part of me wanted to wait until I bought a nice tube-amp for the mic since I think it would have given the vocals even more warmth, but I really felt it was time.
TagLib / Amarok
Submitted by coplan on Mon, 2006-12-18 23:24. | news | public release
To make a long story short, I use the Amarok player, a KDE program, in Linux to play a lot of my music library. Most songs are MP3s, but I still have an incredibly VAST collection of oldskool tracked music in XM, MOD, IT and S3M formats. Amorok plays the music fine. But I cannot add it to the library. I want that to happen.
The Amorok Developer has no interest in supporting the file formats. He suggested that I contact the TagLib developer as Amarok uses Taglib for its library support. Both developers have stated that they'd be willing to accept a patch supporting the format, but prefer not to do the code themselves.
Somebody (Depeche Mode Cover)

When I got married, I recorded a version of "Somebody" by Depeche Mode to be used during our first dance together at the reception.
It was my first successful attempt at doing something in Garage Band on my Mac, and I think it turned out pretty good. Other than my singing. ;)

Five Four
Submitted by coplan on Sat, 2006-11-25 22:26. | public release | Music
So I am finally able to get back to some of the songs that I should've finished a long time ago. It's been a long year, and this song has been a long time coming. I set out in April on a mission to complete a song with a 5/4 time signature. Well, I finally got it completed. And so I present to you: Five Four.
Stay tuned, as there are more projects of mine on the way.
Note: If you would like a higher quality version of this song, just send me a message and I'll get it to you.

Heliosphere (Party Version)
Submitted by Seven on Sun, 2006-08-20 00:00. | public release | Demos
Finished the partyversion of Heliosphere at Buenzli, it was shown 6th of 9 entries (and the entries are mostly sorted from bad to good). I'll have to wait till tomorrow to get the voting results, but in the meantime (and until I've made a final version, if ever) you can watch it for yourself.
Edit:
Heliosphere took second at Buenzli.

I have finally recreated my own personal home page. I have based it on the very same engine that this site is based on: Drupal.
Over the next couple of weeks, I will be uploaded some of my songs and my works. Keep checking back.

Writing for Linux forums
Submitted by coplan on Sat, 2006-05-20 02:33. | news | public release
To earn some extra cash ('cause I always need some) I started doing some freelance writing. I wrote an article about finding a linux distribution suitable for my old laptop. It really is crap. Anyhow...you can find it at the following addresses:
A Distribution for an Old Laptop (the article)
Linux Forums (the site)
I'm going to be submitting more articles. My profits are all going into buying a new laptop so that I can actually do shit again.

The Dresden Dolls
Submitted by tryhuk on Fri, 2006-05-05 06:53.
This duo is one of my two most favourite bands. The second one is The Frames. Last saturday they played in Prague so I just had to be there. If you never heard of Dresden Dolls, I think you should give it a try - here and here are some free downloads.
