First Album by Ranger Rick (a.k.a. Raccoon Fink) Available Tomorrow

My first album, titled "Finally", will be released tomorrow!

It's been a long time coming, I've been meaning to do this for quite some time now. All of the tracks on the album have been generally available from me (as "Ranger Rick") in the past, but I spent 2 solid months cleaning them up, in some case making minor changes to the songs, and all cases cleaning up and re-mastering them.

The album will be available on Amazon MP3, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, and a host of other services. You can purchase it, as well as the single, "Pointillize," at Amazon.com, or you can check out my profile at last.fm for full-length previews of the tracks.

[drone] was nice enough to do some minor research, and he created a very nice Google Map showing where we all live. One testament to the evolution of the Demoscene: It's rare that group members are from the same city.

TagLib / Amarok

To make a long story short, I use the Amarok player, a KDE program, in Linux to play a lot of my music library. Most songs are MP3s, but I still have an incredibly VAST collection of oldskool tracked music in XM, MOD, IT and S3M formats. Amorok plays the music fine. But I cannot add it to the library. I want that to happen.

The Amorok Developer has no interest in supporting the file formats. He suggested that I contact the TagLib developer as Amarok uses Taglib for its library support. Both developers have stated that they'd be willing to accept a patch supporting the format, but prefer not to do the code themselves.

I have finally recreated my own personal home page. I have based it on the very same engine that this site is based on: Drupal.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be uploaded some of my songs and my works. Keep checking back.

To earn some extra cash ('cause I always need some) I started doing some freelance writing. I wrote an article about finding a linux distribution suitable for my old laptop. It really is crap. Anyhow...you can find it at the following addresses:
